Ink Interface

Intelligent integration between CTP and Heidelberg CP2000/PressCenter

Ink Interface System is the solution developed by Intelligent Service to connect the prepress workflow (CTP) with Heidelberg machines, automating the transfer of inking data and significantly reducing makeready times.

The system automatically processes files CIP3/PPF coming from the prepress workflow and converts them into the data needed to adjust the ink fountain zones of the machine, allowing for a quick and precise preset before the start of production.

The result is faster setup, less paper and ink waste, and greater production efficiency.

How it works

The Ink Interface System uses a dedicated mini server that communicates via Ethernet with the CTP workflow and the machine control system.

The process is completely automatic:

• CIP3 data acquisition from the prepress workflow;
• data processing and conversion;
• automatic calculation of ink profiles;
• Transferring settings to the Heidelberg machine.

The operator does not have to make manual adjustments to the ink duct zones, reducing setup times and operational errors.

Compatibility

The system is compatible with:

Heidelberg machines

• CP2000 with and without PresetLink license;
• PressCenter with and without Instant Gate License
• CPTronic via Job Memory Card.

CTP Workflow

It is compatible with all workflows and RIPs capable of exporting files CIP3/PPF.

The CTP can be installed at your premises or managed by an external service: in the latter case the CIP3 files can be transferred via the Internet.

Installation and support

The system is installed and configured by our staff, who verify full integration between workflow, server, and printing press, ensuring the entire process functions correctly.
